Audubon Taxidermy Collection

The new Education Center at McNary Wildlife Center was finished this summer. Lower Columbia Audubon Society stores the taxidermy collection there. An old house was the education center before. I got to arrange 101 birds in the new cases. An employee of the Department of Fish and Wildlife built the beautiful display cases. Nancy, in charge of the taxidermy, my friend, Marilyn, a group from Audubon, and I worked Saturday morning cleaning and moving the birds to the new building. I worked the rest of the day cleaning glass shelves and doors and displaying the birds. Nancy and I returned the next day, but the guys had finished the last case. We took inventory. It looks like a museum, huh?
